Rapper 50 Cent Becomes a Bitcoin Millionaire

Add rapper 50 Cent to the list of Bitcoin millionaires....and to think he had no idea until now.

50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, had garnered about 700 BTC after moving to accept the cryptocurrency through then startup BitPay for the 2014 album "Animal Ambition". At the time, only a few diehards were familiar with the cryptocurrency.

And Jackson only realized his windfall recently, having forgotten about the cache of Bitcoin.

"Not Bad for a kid from South Side, I'm so proud of me."

50 Cent might be one of the few high on Bitcoin in recent days following a huge price plunge. Having peaked near $20,000, the price of Bitcoin at times over the past seven days has flirted with the $9,000 mark. It was sitting just above $11,000 at press time Wednesday evening.
