Phil Ivey Makes 2009 WSOP Final Table: November Nine Decided
It's going to be an amazing WSOP Final Table after all with the best star power the poker community can provide. Phil Ivey ranks among the best modern day poker pros and he showed why. Out of nearly 6500 entries, Ivey will be part of the November Nine.
Ivey is a Riverside, California-born professional poker player (transplanted at 3 months to New Jersey) who has won seven World Series of Poker bracelets and has a World Poker Tour title, making the final table there a record eight times. The 33-year old is often referred to as "The Tiger Woods of Poker".
The Final Table already has its first controversy with Card Player Magazine editor, Jeff Shulman, promising to "throw away the bracelet" should he win it. The World Series of Poker cut off his family's exclusivity rights to cover the WSOP a few years ago.
The rest of the table is comprised of mostly unknowns.
The November Nine will maintain these seating assignments at the final table four months from now. Here's the lineup:
Darvin Moon
James Akenhead
Phil Ivey
Kevin Schaffel
Steven Begleiter
Eric Buchman
Joe Cada
Antoine Saout
Jeff Shulman
