Trump Personal Aide Fired for Online Gambling

U.S. President Donald Trump fired his Secretary of State on Tuesday, Rex Tillerson.  Lost in all the hoopla was another termination, that of Trump's personal aide.  The reason: He could not gain security clearance due to his problems with online gambling.

John McEntee, 27, was fired and escorted from the White House without his coat on a bitter cold Monday morning after being denied a security clearance over financial problems in his background, much of which was brought on by his addiction to Internet gambling.

McEntee's mishandling of his taxes were cited as an other issue for the firing.

The Secret Service is investigating Mr. McEntee for those issues, according to a law enforcement official.  It was not immediately known which websites McEntee may have been playing with.

By Tuesday morning, the Trump presidential campaign announced McEntee would join the 2020 effort as a senior adviser for campaign operations.
