SBC to Host 5th Annual Betting on Football Conference: Focus on Affiliates and Regulators

This year's 5th installment of Sports Betting Community (SBC)'s Betting on Football Conference, to be held at Stanford Bridge, will feature a handful of bootcamps including one that focuses on the explosive eSports wagering sector and another that looks to better prepare affiliates for further government regulatory enforcements.

Speaking to CalvinAyre.com’s Becky Liggero, SBC’s Managing Director Andrew McCarron offered his vision for the year and how SBC events help the industry push forward in a time of extreme regulatory challenges.

The later part of 2017 proved to be especially trying for online gambling affiliates after Skybet opted to cease profit sharing agreements while a number of other companies began implementing stricter guidelines for their affiliate partners.

“We felt that a lot of the affiliates needed a bit more help to get up to the standards that the operators – and the regulators by proxy – are demanding of the affiliate side of things," McCarron said.  "So the Affiliate [Insider] Bootcamp is kind of like that, to help discuss best practices in the affiliate side of things."

“Similarly, on the eSports track, ‘Esports Insider’ is our eSports business portal and that’s got its own audience, so in a way this is it having its own event but it just happens to be at the same time as Betting on Football.  The ESI Super Forum is a way for them to discuss the topics that matter to them”, he said.
