Rory McIlroy's odds of winning The Masters this year were set at 11/1, giving him the second shortest odds after Jordan Spieth (10/1) while being tied with Justin Thomas. Tiger Woods, a favorite to win at some books, was coming in at 12/1 odds, tied with Dustin Johnson.
McIlroy actually was quoted as saying he likes Tiger Woods chances of winning The Masters 2018.
“He’s got a great chance,” McIlroy told reporters on Tuesday. “Look at how he’s played the last few weeks.”
History is certainly on Woods side.
“He’s had four wins here. In 2010, he hadn’t played in a few months and this was his first start back and finished fourth,” said McIlroy, who is in search of his first victory at Augusta, a win that would complete his career grand slam. “He’s very comfortable around this golf course and his game is right there.”
But enough of Woods, McIlroy would pay out $1100 for every $100 bet with a win.
