How Brits Pick Up Their Horses

Grand National is among the favourite horse race events in Britain held annually at Aintree in Liverpool. Since the first run in 1839, the event aimed to become part of the British culture and now offers the biggest prize fund of more than £1 million pounds.

Aintree’s popularity has been increased a lot since 1960’s that has been broadcast live by the BBC. As it’s reported more than 15 million Brits bet every year on the racecourse. A very interesting fact it’s that the clear majority of the people betting on the event do not normally watch or bet on horse racing at other times of the year. According to the experts, this is because in most of the cases it’s quite difficult to predict the winner. In this line, winners of the last ten Grand National priced between 14/1 – 100/1.
