In his regularly featured article for the Las Vegas Review Journal, one time sports handicapper turned political pundit and radio commentator, Wayne Allyn Root, surmises that legalized sports betting in the United States will generate an almost endless stream of new money flow. SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE

Thus far, 20 states have signed on in support of New Jersey’s efforts to get sports legalized throughout the U.S. The case is currently under review in the Supreme Court.
“Why? Because every red-blooded American male loves to bet on sports,” Root writes. “It’s in our blood. Americans love sports. And we are a nation of gamblers — we love putting our money where our mouths are.
The numbers are staggering.
Some $5 billion is bet annually on the Super Bowl and another $9 billion on March Madness, much of the money bet illegally (not the coffers of U.S.-based wagering firms).
"Opposition to sports wagering has never made sense to me. It’s as American as apple pie. I grew up on the rough-and-tumble streets of New York, where most of my friends were betting on sports with a bookie by age 16."
While a Supreme Court ruling could happen any day now, most experts believe a decision will not be forthcoming until June the earliest.
