Ripple Adds Snoop Dog to Promotional Campaign
In the ever-changing world of cryptocurrencies, Tronix and Ripple (XRP) has been one of the shining stars for investors since the beginning of the year as the second-most valuable digital currency after Bitcoin. The entire cryptocurrency market experienced a downturn in value during the month of March, but optimism among investors is still rather bullish in both the short-term and long-term markets. As part of an overall sales and marketing campaign for Ripple, company officials are always looking for new and innovative ways to promote their digital currency to mainstream investors that may still be on the fence when it comes to putting their money into this fast-growing, but volatile industry.
In a recent post on Army Of Bitcoin, it appears that rapper and entertainment star Snoop Dog is on board to help Ripple’s latest promotional endeavor. The company recently revealed that it has plans to hold an invite-only event for select VIPs in New York City on May 15. The event has been coined as the “XRP Communit y Night” and the entertainment for the night is none other than Snoop Dog.While the event is by ‘invite only’, the article went on to mention that there will be two separated contests on Twitter where contestants can win a block of ten tickets. One contest is called “Twitter Trivia” and it is scheduled to be held on April 26. The second Twitter contest will be held on May 2 and it is called “Make the Meme”.
Ripple has described the event as a “special night”. Its main priority is to thank everyone involved in its current efforts to develop the XRP Ledger and the xRapid platform. The company also wants to thank its fans, followers and supporters that have helped the cause in “spreading the good word about Ripple’s many benefits.”Early feedback on social media to the announcement of this event on April 24 has been mixed accor ding to the ArmyOfBitcoin.com report. Ripple does have a strong base of fans, but there are also sceptics in the mix as well. This will not be the first time that the crypto world and celebrities joined forces to promote the digital currency industry. The article notes that singer Lionel Ritchie was part of a recent Super Bowl television ad promoting Bitcoin Futures. Michael Owen, of Liverpool soccer fame is launching his own crypto token and hotel heiress and reality TV star Paris Hilton endorsed the ICO for Lydian Coin last year. This post also makes note that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) exposed ICO scam earlier this month. At the center of this high-profile case is boxer Floyd Mayweather and DJ Khaled, as celebrity promoters for the company behind this scheme.Towards the end of last year, the SEC raised its concern over the legality of ICO endorsements by celebrities in certain situations.
Where the cryptocurrency industry goes from here is still anyone’s guess, but you get the feeling that when it comes to selling their products, the companies involved will still turn to somebody famous to help promote the effort.
