Rooney is still a major name in Premier League Soccer and should provide a major boost to the U.S. league.

It was reported on Tuesday by The Washington Post that Rooney "is in serious talks" about a summer move to D.C. United, adding that he "has grown frustrated" at Goodison Park.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Rooney, who joined Everton on a two-year deal last summer, has the option of a third year on that contract.
