The Atlanta Braves are among the Major League Baseball top exposures this day as they go up against the Miami Marlins.

Atlanta had dropped from -130 at some books to -115.  This line movement makes no sense since better than 85% of the money line action was on the Braves.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Braves RH Brandon McCarthy (4-1, 4.84 ERA) vs. Marlins RH Dan Straily (0-0, 6.75)

McCarthy’s ERA jumped nearly two runs a game after a rough beginning to May, in which he gave up eight runs on 12 hits in 3 1/3 innings in a loss to San Francisco.  McCarthy makes his third career start against Miami, going 2-0 with a 2.29 ERA in 19 2/3 innings.

Straily continues working his way back from right forearm inflammation that delayed his season debut until April 30. In two starts since returning, the 29-year-old has allowed six runs on nine hits over eight innings with eight walks and three homers allowed.  He received a no-decision his last start and is 2-2 with a 5.52 ERA in six starts lifetime against Atlanta.

The Braves are 10-1 in their last 11 road games, which certainly has resulted in all the public love.  The Marlins, however, are 5-0 in Straily’s last 5 home starts.  The later stat appears to be more important to the bookmakers.
