Paddy Power, Ireland’s largest bookmaker, is preparing to shell out a record €1m to punters if Ireland win the Eurovision on Saturday.

Should Ryan O'Shaughnessy win for Ireland, so too will gamblers who are backing the Eurovision contestant.  It would be the biggest betting payout in Eurovision history.

From The Mirror:

Ireland was initially 200/1 to win and 100/1 before the semi-finals but the odds changed dramatically after Ryan made it through to the final with his emotional performance of his ballad Together.

Earlier on Friday, Ireland was placed sixth favourite to win the Eurovision at 20/1, however the odds have now been slashed even further, making us 9/1 and third favourite to win.

An example of the potential winning bets: One Dubliner wagered €200 each-way on Ireland to win at odds of 66/1, with a potential payout of €16,500 if Ireland come first, Paddy Power spokesperson Rachael Keane revealed.
