The prize pool did hit the $5 million mark on May 9 and $10 million mark by May 24 and just over $11 million on May 27.
The annual Dota 2 world championship is setting records yet again this year, setting a 24-hour prize pool record at $5 million, a result of a crowdfunding effort. This occurred on May 9 but the pace has lagged since.
There is still plenty of time with the Main Event taking place August 20-25th.
