Make no mistake about it, the Philadelphia Eagles 2009 odds have them among the top 10 favorite teams to excel.  At Sportsbetting.com the Eagles were listed with 12/1 odds of winning the 2010 Super Bowl.

But bad news has just hit Philadelphia.

ESPN was reporting that middle linebacker Stewart Bradley could be done for the season.

Bradley tore an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in a practice Sunday night and head coach Andy Reid wouldn't comment on the injury.

The Eagles open exhibition play against the New England Patriots on August 13 and are listed as 3.5-point home favorites.

Without Bradley, the Eagles are likely graded a "C" or worse in terms of the linebacker position.

Bradley is considered the linebacker Philadelphia has been waiting for ever since Jeremiah Trotter trotted out of town.  Indeed Stewart Bradley is considered to have Pro Bowl potential.

This isn't to say the Philadelphia Eagles are down and out for the season.  This of course is a talented squad.  Nevertheless, the loss of Bradley has got to hurt a little.
