Can I Bet the FIFA World Cup Online From Wisconsin Using Bitcoin?

Betting on this year's FIFA World Cup will be available in Wisconsin couresty of a few dozen of internationally licensed sportsbooks will accept wagers on this year's World Cup. The best way to fund and receive payouts is through a cryptocurrency wallet using bitcoin or another crytpocurrency, though most books allow wagering on one's credit card or through cash transfer. In May 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that individual states can offer legalized sports betting but must first develop regulatory instruments before doing so.

WILL WISCONSIN WELCOME SPORTS BETTING?

Home to the Packers and Badgers, Wisconsin will likely rake in the cash once it sets up a sports betting framework.  That won't happen in time for the World Cup, or even the next Super Bowl for that matter.

"Sports gaming is prohibited by the Wisconsin Constitution, state law and is not allowed under the state-tribal compacts," Steven Michels, state Department of Administration spokesperson, proclaimed after the court ruling.

If it happens, sports betting would likely be run by the Tribes.  Each of Wisconsin's 11 tribes operates at least one casino.  In-fighting among the Tribes and state government is a very real possibility however.

Needless-to-say, Wisconsin gamblers will need to rely on international websites to place all their World Cup bets

You will want to verify all your information (including personal identification) with the exchange prior to sending and receiving funds.  Typically they will suggest setting up an authenticator on your mobile device for added security.
