Poker pro Bart Hanson busted out of the World Series of Poker $10,000 buy-in Omaha eight-or-better event only to win $200,000 playing video poker by hitting a royal flush at 40,000 to 1 odds.

CardPlayer.com recounts:

A little tilted, Hanson left the Rio casino’s Convention Center and went to the main gaming floor at nearby Caesars Palace to “let off some steam” playing video poker. When the dust settled, Hanson was pocketing a whopping $200,000 after hitting a royal flush in clubs. Remarkably, Hanson won more at video poker than he would have if he finished third in the Omaha tournament.
