Face The Ace is a Flop: Time to Face Reality

Face The Ace, the first ever prime time poker show, may have had some potential.  It just will never be realized.  The show is a complete and utter flop.

Just how bad is this show you may be asking yourselves?

It's sooooooo bad that Card Player Magazine hasn't even kissed up to it.  Eric Morris of Bluff Magazine is wise enough not to even mention this show on his Facebook page.  Instead he spent the day being chased around a water park by half naked midgets.

If Doyle Brunson were alive today he'd be rolling over in his grave.

Oh wait...He hasn't died yet.   But he came close to it after watching this s*** last night we were told.

Since when has MUST SEE TELEVISION become MUST FLEE TELEVISION?  Did anybody really watch this to the end?

Indians telling bad jokes:  That's me, Jagajeet Chiba....more entertainment value than Face the Ace.  That's for sure.

But let the Gambling911.com readers be heard on this one:

hello

We have to rip the pathetic shows to shred so the better shows can lead by examples of what a good show is suppose to be...

A TOOL OF SATAN

DO NOT WATCH THIS SMUT!

I fell asleep and didn't see

I fell asleep and didn't see the end. What happened!?

agree

No offense against the host but who is he? I play poker alot so don't watch tv that often.... and when i do watch it usually have to do with poker... where is the gorgeous shanna hiatt? also the way the blinds raise up at every 3 hands no wonder the pros are going all-in when they have an Ace or a king... anyone can beat the pros at this rate!

I agree, the host sucked.

I agree, the host sucked. Can you get a less obnoxious loser to do it? A babe, like Shawna. No brainer.

And here is what Bluff Magazine readers had to say:

"Sorry this was the best FT (Full Tilt Poker) and NBC could come up with for a poker show. I've watched the first two episodes and its just sooooo boring. I havent seen ratings for this show, but they have to be real bad. Still cant believe that dude won two matches and gave up a guaranteed 200k to go for the million. There is gambling and there is stupid. The guy left with NOTHING!

"This show is not putting poker in a positive light right when we are fighting for legalization of online poker. How can we claim its more a game of skill than luck when the pros are getting beat on national tv by a dude that lives in his basement with his mother and sister upstairs. I know its a game of skill, but so far this show has made it look entirely about luck."

Face The Ace, a new poker show airing on NBC prime time Saturday night, found itself in last place in the ratings and it is hard to imagine any improvement this week.

The show had 1.6 million viewers and a 0.4/2 share.  Compare that with America's Most Wanted in the same time slot with nearly 5 million viewers during its second half (the 9:30 pm to 10:00 pm time period).

While the first two episodes debuted on NBC at 9 p.m. on Aug. 1 and Aug. 8, the third episode isn't scheduled to run until Saturday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. on NBC.  What are the odds on NBC pulling the plug before episode 3 we wonder?

The good news (or bad news if Face the Ace serves as any indicator) is that more poker shows are currently in the works according to Pokerati.com.

Once again, the potential is there.

These will show on the Poker Television Network, which unfortunately might not even be in 1.6 million homes.
