Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods were among the early favorites to win the 2018 British Open and both players were sitting within the top three of the leaderboard.  The top spot belongs to  Xander Schauffele however.

Bookmakers in particular were fearful of a Tiger win as he left them with the most exposure coming into this year's Open Championship.

Woods is without a major championship to his name since 2008.  A win by Woods will likely propel Golf into another dimension.

The payout on Woods heading into the British Open and throughout much of the tournament would be around $2000 for every $100 bet.
