Can I Bet on Rutgers, Seton Hall Games at the Meadowlands?
The US Supreme Court in May paved the way for individual states to begin offering legalized sports betting, including New Jersey. While internationally licensed online betting sites accept most types of wagers and bets on all teams, there are restrictions when it comes to placing a sports bet at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
No Betting on Rutgers or Seton Hall
These are the two primary college teams in the state. Rutgers does see good action during the College Football season while Seton Hall steps it up with College Basketball.
Once the New Jersey state law applying to sports betting was amended, lawmakers decided it would be best to include a stipulation that state run sportsbooks not accept bets on any of the college teams. This was done out of fear that these games stood a better chance of being exploited (fixed). Internationally licensed online sportsbooks do take bets on Rutgers and Seton Hall from New Jersey residents and visitors placing bets here.
What About the Jets and Giants?
Bets can be placed on all NFL teams, including the Jets and Giants, while at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
Can I Bet Online?
Companies in New Jersey are scrambling to offer online sports betting from one's smartphone, tablet or laptop. Unlike the international sites, you will likely be required to provide your social security number and file tax documents.
I'm From New York City, Can I Bet on Sports at the Meadowlands?

Meadowlands Sportsbook Feedback Thus Far
The main complaints lodged against the new Meadowlands sportsbook has had to do with inadequate cash on hand and early closing when late games have gone into overtime (i.e. Major League Baseball). The facility reported a nice take their first week, well ahead of the busy NFL season.
