The oppulent Casino Club at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV is set to begin offering sports betting soon.  Up until very recently, those living in West Virginia were only able to access sports wagering via internationally-licensed gambling sites, many of which say they will be upping the ante in order to compete in the States.

So far, West Virginia is one of a handful of states that allows sports betting after the US Supreme Court ruled to abolish decades long restrictions.  States are required to amend their current laws where necessary however.

The Casino Club at The Greenbrier will be opening its sports book shortly.  Like with the Meadowlands Race Track in New Jersey, FanDuel will be running this operation.

The Greenbrier itself is a premier resort situated on 11,000 acres (4,500 ha) of land with 710 guest rooms, 20 restaurants and lounges.  Presidents have stayed here, 26 in fact.  The last one to do so was Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Room rates range from $465 per night to $1100 per night.  Needless-to-say, the sports book will attract plenty of high rollers. Rooms feature high-speed Internet access, allowing for these high rollers to tap into online sports books that will likely offer higher limits and better odds.  Keep in mind you are a captive in this region and the line on the Mountaineers likely won't be favorable for most games.

Betting on College Football games will be permitted from the West Virginia casinos, including on the Mountaineers.  New Jersey, one of the first states to offer legalized sports wagering after the Supreme Court decision, will not be taking bets on its college teams, Rutgers and Seton Hall being among the most successful sports programs.

This casino will attract folks from nearby Virginia for day trips.  Roanoke is an hour-and-a-half away.
