You will be able to bet on all College Football teams from the Wheeling Island Casino West Virginia once their sports book is up and running. Online sports betting will only be available via internationally-licensed wagering firms for the foreseeable future.
So far, West Virginia is one of a handful of states that allows sports betting after the US Supreme Court ruled to abolish decades long restrictions. States are required to amend their current laws where necessary however.
In late August, the facility held a job fair to attract would be employees for its upcoming sports book. They expect to be up and running some time after the start of this football season.
"We are preparing for it (sports betting) right now. The state of West Virginia has made it possible for us by passing the legislation they passed in the first part of the year,” said Kim Florence, president and general manager of Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack.

“It’s right in the middle of the gaming floor, so it’s really easy to find. It’s got a lot of access to food and beverage options … and we’re really excited about what it’s going to look like. It’s going to be transformed into a place where people can actually watch sports and bet on sports at the same time,” she added.
“Anything that you would anticipate seeing in Las Vegas in a sports betting lounge … we will have the ability to do here."
A new sports bar opened just prior to Week 1 of College Football, ahead of the sportsbook opening.
Information pertaining to the Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino sportsbook has been in high demand these last few weeks as we enter the start of the 2018 NFL season and two College Football weeks behind us.
West Virginia will not, for the time being anyway, prohibit betting on college teams, including the state's Mountaineers.
