You will be able to bet on Premier League Soccer games from Atlantic City, Monmouth Park and the Meadowlands in New Jersey. Online will be availble shortly from NJ-based firms but these will require social security number submissions and tax reporting. For anonymous wagering on the Premier League and better cash bonuses, many experts believe that internationally-licensed wagering firms are the way to go.
What About the Time Difference?
It remains to be seen if any of the NJ books will be opening in time for a good number of these games. Bets of course can be placed the day prior at any of the New Jersey sports book establishments.
Case in point: Liverpool vs. West Ham will take place at 8:30 am August 12.
Will there be enough of a demand in the region to open the books early for Premier League games? We shall see.
Atlantic City
Borgata - While currently located in a small space, expansion is on the horizon. The bar within the sportsbook, called the Boot N’ Whip, has about nine seats, so hitting one of the Borgata’s other bars is the play, writes Ed Barkowitz of the Philadelphia Inquirer. It will be opening at 9 am Sundays.
Ocean Resort - A bigger space than the Borgata currently, there's one slight problem. DirecTV is the provider and this means local Philadlephia Phillies games will not be shown often as there won’t be any NBC Sports Philadelphia channel. PA will be getting its own sports books, including at Parx Casino just outside of Philly. The problem is that Pennsylvania casinos are paying a steep price to have sports books and that will likely be passed onto resident bettors. A good chunk of those from the Philly area are likely to trek to Atlantic City to place their bets.
The good news is that NBC Sports will also be showing a number of games and is part of the DirecTV package.
Meadowlands
FanDuel at the Race Track - This looks like it is going to be a highly successful sports book, especially come football.
