Charles Oakley Pleads No Contest in Vegas Casino Betting Cheat Case
Accused of attempting to change his wager “after the outcome was known” at a Vegas casino last month, former Knicks star Charles Oakley entered a no-contest plea Tuesday.
Oakley’s no-contest plea “fully resolves this situation,” Oakley’s attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld said in a statement to Newsday.
The incident occurred at the Cosmopolitan. A source at the time claimed that Oakley tried to pull back a $100 chip after he realized he was going to lose.
The felony charge carried a potential jail sentence between one and six years and a fine of $10,000.
