Online Poker: Account Services Court Hearing Cancelled
The scheduled Friday hearing in the Account Services Corp forfeiture suit (to reclaim $14 million in seized funds) has been canceled by the court, reportedly to give the court more time to review briefings on the matter, according to one of the attorneys connected to ASC.
Account Services is one of the payment processors connected to online poker companies Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars. Funds were froze by the US Attorney out of the Southern District of New York in June following the issuance of sealed seizure warrants.
Account Services filed the suit to reclaim some of that money last month. Douglas Rennick, who is connected to Account Services, has since been indicted.
Gambling911.com parent company, Costigan Media, has since successfully been granted access by a New York Circuit Court to redacted copies of the sealed search warrants and other pertinent court documents. This week, the Honorable Judge Laura Taylor Swain allowed for additional information mentioning Account Services to be unredacted.
