A recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in 2018 opened the doors for legalized sports betting in the United States.
Since that time, Wisconsin has begun to regulate only land-based casinos, and specifically those on tribal land.
Ho-Chunk Gaming is the closest casino to Madison, however, it does not currently offer a sportsbook.
The Ho-Chunk is permitted to do so.
“We do anticipate (sports betting) will be offered at our facilities,” Ho-Chunk Nation Public Relations Officer Ryan Greendeer told the Beloit Daily News last December.
