I just did a quick follow up with Vanessa Rousso to see what's been going on with her after the 2009 World Series of Poker.  To no surprise, she seems to be busier than ever as you'll read in my interview with her.  One event coming up will be her Big Slick Boot Camp's "The Art of Poker - An Intro to Game Theory & Intermediate Poker Tournament Strategy" on September 11th at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS.  As many of you know, Jenny attended this event several months ago in West Palm Beach and was very much impressed.  To all of you that want to know all about this game that is now considered a sport, get over to Biloxi and get in on Vanessa's teachings.  You can also find out more info by going to BigSlickBootCamp.com

JENNY:  How was your overall experience at this year's WSOP?

VANESSA:  This has been my best year yet with over 120k in earnings and four cashes in 18 events played at the 2009 WSOP.

JENNY:  Was there anything you would have changed?

VANESSA:  Not really.  It was one of those years for me where things just sort of fell together in a great way.

JENNY:  How many events did you play in?  And did you have any memorable moments in any of them?

VANESSA:  I played in 18 events.  The most memorable moment was when the same player knocked me out of two different events (when in the money)--winning a coin flip against me both times.

JENNY:  There seems to be more unknown than known players in this year's WSOP final nine.  Obviously, many people will be keeping their eye on Phil Ivey.  However, do you see one particular player standing out more than the rest?

VANESSA:  To be honest, I haven't looked at the WSOP final 9.

JENNY:  Did you have a Big Slick Boot Camp booth this year at the WSOP?  And what's going on with the camp overall?

VANESSA:  There were no booths this year at WSOP.  There is a camp on Sept. 11 at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS - costs $499 for the day.   We are coming off of a very successful string of events that took place across Florida in March and April.  In addition to the camps, I offer private lessons and anyone interested can sign up at http://www.bigslickbootcamp.com/Big_Slick_Boot_Camp/Schedule_Sign-Up.html.

JENNY:  What's going on with you right now?  Is there a lot more poker?  Or do you have any future vacation plans?

VANESSA:  I am heading to Paris tomorrow to do post-production as the host for "The Stars of Poker" to air in Canal and in France.  After that wraps, I am off to Slovakia for the WPT and Barcelona for the EPT.  As for a vacation, I just took my family on a Mediterranean cruise in August, which was tons of fun!  I also schedule extra days for leisure when I travel for poker - so I squeeze a few days in here and there as down time.

Thanks Vanessa!!
