2018 Week 9 College Football Betting Previews

Excitement Packed Saturday

As we head into week 9 of the NCAA Men's Football season, the heat is turning up for some teams, and for others, the dream is beginning to fade, but, regardless of where your favorite teams are at right now, there is always a way to make money.

This week there are two games that we feel are potential money makers for bookies, those are the matches between Clemson and Florida State, and the Georgia Bulldogs vs. the Florida Gators. Shall we take a look?

Clemson vs. Florida State

On the surface this game seems like a no-brainer, Clemson has just regained their number 2 rank and completely dominated the field against Wake Forest and NC State beating them by an impressive 63-3 and 41-7 respectively.

And they are 16.5-point favorites this week against Florida State. The Tigers opened as 14-point favorites at AcePerHead.com, and the line quickly moved to 16.5, which means everyone favors them. But, there is another side to this story.

Florida State is hardly ever an underdog at home, and there is a reason for this. According to records the last time the Seminoles were such heavy underdogs at home was in 2008 when they were 16.5-point dogs against the Florida Gators.

Two years ago, the Seminoles hosted the Clemson Tigers, and back then they were also the dogs, the line back then opened at 3.5 and closed at 4. Clemson ended winning that game a field goal, which allowed Florida State to cover the spread much to everyone's surprise.

My Take on the Game:

Sure, Clemson is due to win this match, but the question is can they win by a difference of 17 points or more? The early action means the public sides with the Tigers, but, I expect some sharp action will come in late and even out the field for bookies, guaranteeing a nice profit regardless.

Georgia vs. Florida

This one is interesting because it pairs up No. 7 Georgia against No. 9 Florida, who both happen to be coming off their bye week, so everyone will be well rested and in top shape, making this the must-watch game of the week.

The Gators have won 3 out of the last 4 games in this rivalry, but, this time around Georgia is 2 full spots ahead of Florida in the rankings, and they are 7-point favorites right now at www.AcePerHead.com.

Although the Bulldogs had a surprising loss against LSU two weeks ago, which stripped them of their perfect 6-0 record for the season, I'm sure they've had enough time to figure out what happened and are likely to enter this game with a whole different strategy, but, they won't have an easy time against Florida.

The Gators are on a hot winning streak, having won their last 5 games and I'm sure they are eager to win 6 in a row. And they just might do it, after all, they are the home team.

My Take on the Game:

The public will likely side with Georgia, but I personally like Florida +7 at home, if this plays out the way I think it will, then agents will walk away with a good chunk of cash.
