South Carolina vs. North Carolina State betting odds were now available with South Carolina getting the most betting action as a +4 ½ underdog at Bookmaker.com.

There is a reason for the heavy South Carolina Gamecocks backing.  USC has won its past nine openers, including last year's 34-0 victory against the Wolfpack. Spurrier is 18-1 in season-opening games as a college coach, with the lone loss coming against USC in 1989 during his final season at Duke.

But North Carolina starts four seniors on the offensive line and South Carolina won't stand a chance if the Gamecocks fail to protect quarterback Stephen Garcia.

Also, half of South Carolina's starting defensive front is suspended.

The gambling public may like South Carolina but there is reason to believe favored North Carolina State can pull off the victory.

The Over/Under on this matchup is 46.  For those who believe South Carolina can win outright, the payout would be $175 for every $100 bet.

This game goes off on Thursday night.
