The Sugarhouse Casino in Philadelphia opened its sportsbook over the weekend and the bets were flooding in on the City of Brotherly Love's beloved Eagles.
It's a team that's been struggling but pulled off a huge victory as a significant double-digit dog in LA against the Rams. At some books the Rams were listed at -13.5.
Most of the bets here were on the Eagles money line, per ESPN.com:
At Sugarhouse Casino in Philadelphia, 91 percent of the money-line bets were on the Eagles against the heavily favored Los Angeles Rams.
In Pittsburgh, the Rivers Casino also opened its sportsbook Thursday and suffered a similar fate to that of Sugarhouse.
Here some 83% of the money line bets were placed on the Steelers, a home dog against New England that also pulled off a huge victory late Sunday afternoon.
"We're going to have to build bigger," Sugarhouse general manager Cheryl Duhon told ESPN following the Eagles upset win.
Rivers Casino general manager Bill Keena issued a similar sentiment.
