WILL CONNECTICUT WELCOME SPORTS BETTING IN THE NEAR FUTURE?

Governor Dannel Malloy supported legalized sports betting in the state.

"It is incumbent on us to consider the question of legalized sports betting in a thoughtful way that ensures our approach is responsible, smart, and fully realizes the economic potential that this opportunity provides," he said in the statement.

But Malloy’s days are done and a new Governor is set to take control.  It is not immediately known whether Connecticut will push for sports wagering.  Rhode Island became the first New England state to offer the activity, but only on a limited basis (i.e. no parlays, no Web gambling).

WHO WILL CONNECTICUT RESIDENTS BE ROOTING FOR?

The Patriots of course and they are destined to make the Playoffs once again, though they've had some rough outings to close the regular season, including a late final seconds loss to Miami in Week 14.

The New York Giants do have a solid fan base throughout Connecticut but will not be in the 2019 Playoffs.
