To date, New Jersey is the only state that PokerStars has been allowed to operate in.

The temporary status comes as a result of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement still undergoing a review of the company’s licensing application.

The Stars Group partners with Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City through Resorts Digital Gaming and has done so since 2015.

It is not immediately clear what the holdup might be in obtaining a full year gaming license.

PokerStars is also looking to gain a foothold in neighboring Pennsylvania and New York.
