Detroit Lions vs. New Orleans Saints Betting Odds featured a line of New Orleans -13 ½.  SBG Global was just one of many online sportsbooks offering this line.  This is an unlikely bettor's favorite coming into Sunday with New Orleans the 4th most bet on team and getting a whopping 80 percent of the betting action.

Be careful here folks!  The Lions have won three of the past four meetings though the Saints clobbered Detroit on the road 42-7 last year.  This will be an improved Lions team however (not that a team can get any worse than zero wins in 2008).

On paper, the Saints look like a superior team. By hiring defensive coordinator Gregg Williams in the offseason, the Saints made clear they wanted a far more aggressive defense with a lot more blitzing (Williams has a reputation for attacking relentlessly).  A healthy Reggie Bush (assuming he is healthy) can help to carry the Saints deep into the Playoffs.

Rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford should breathe new life into the Detroit Lions.  Calvin Johnson is also a top player for Detroit.

Lions are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games but are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games on fieldturf.

We're not ready to bet on Detroit just yet but no way do we pick New Orleans at this number either.

St. Louis Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks Betting Odds

The St. Louis Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks betting odds offered a nice middling opportunity whereby one could win by betting both sides of this game.

BetUS.com offered Seattle at -7 1/2 odds while betED.com offered the Rams at +9.  A Seahawks win by 8 points would pay out for both bets.

The Seahawks have won the last 8 games in this series.  Only 3 of those games were won by the current spread however.

The Rams are 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games in Week 1 and are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 vs. NFC West.

The Rams offensive line does not appear to have improved significantly this season.

The veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck missed nine games for Seattle last year with a back injury, but he is healthy and ready to go for the start of the season.

This game was getting even betting action heading into Sunday.
