Football, soccer, the beautiful game, whatever you want to call it, there’s no doubt that it’s one of if not the most popular sport on the planet. Just take a look at the viewing figures for the recent World Cup in Russia, and you’ll get a fairly good idea of the interest there is in this game. So, it’s no surprise that poker providers and casinos, in general, sometimes look to incorporate the sport into their gaming.

Now, when you try to bring two sports or games together, sometimes, we end up with some bizarre hybrids like chess boxing, for example. But every now and then, something comes along that makes sense. A game that works so well, you wonder how no one came up with the concept before. And today, we’re introducing you to one such effort from Full Tilt that combines football and cards: Live Football Studio.

As far as iterations of card games go Live Football Studio is pretty good. While it may sound like something you’d find in the slot machine section at a casino, it’s a well-thought-out game with simple yet engaging gameplay.

They’ve gone all out to create the full football experience with a football-themed studio that has some pretty slick video animation and live match commentary that even includes goal celebrations. Yes, as we mentioned, it does sound quite like a slot machine but bear with us on this because it’s not only about the atmosphere created.

This easy-to-pick-up game revolves around the player (that’s you) betting on a home win, away win or a draw. Now, don’t worry if you don’t understand the footballing terminology because you’ll pick it all up as you go along. Once you have placed your bet, two cards are dealt faceup on the football pitch. One card goes into the home betting position while the other goes in the away position.

The position that gets the higher card is the winner, which is where your bet on a home or away win comes into play. Suits don’t come into play, so it’s an ace high game. If you bet on a draw and two cards of the same value are dealt, you win with odds of 11/1, which is pretty good considering the card needs to be of the same value and not the same suit. Home and away wins are paid out at odds of 1/1.

As we said, it’s a super easy game to get into and has no real learning curve at all. The games can be played on all devices and is available in many languages, and we’re not sure on this but we kind of hope that the South American versions have that GOOOOAAAAAAAALLL celebration we saw in Brazil vs Mexico in July 2018. You can customize your table and studio, but in fairness, this game is all about the simplicity of its gameplay and the speed of each game.

So, if you’re in search of an easy, fast-paced game that you can pick up in a matter of seconds, then Live Football Studio is the one for you. One thing missing, though, is a graphic of a certain Brazilian player rolling along the pitch at some point. On second thought, it’s probably better without it.

Apart from Live Football Sudio there are many other apps related to the world of football for fans and fans of the most beautiful sport in the world.

Forza Football for example, this app focusses primarily on team updates to get all the information about transfers, news and all updates related to each individual team. Another minimalistic app is LiveScore, with live commentary and live updates about the match schedules. Onefootball should be the most complete app, which in addition to live updates also contains news taken from social media and mainly covers all news related to MLS Soccer.
