A Connecticut woman claims former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden touched her inappropriately during a 2009 political fundraiser in Greenwich, rubbing noses. Biden has been the favorite to win the Democratic nomination for 2020 but is losing favor in light of recent reports.
Amy Lappos is the second woman to make an accusation against Biden in so many days. Nevada legislator Lucy Flores claimed Biden gave her an unwanted kiss on the back of her head.
Polling website FiveThirtyEight.com founder Nate Silver says South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg is quietly gaining steam among gamblers in the political betting market.
“Pete Buttigieg is more likely to be the Democratic nominee than Joe Biden, according to PredictIt,” Silver tweeted Monday. “Note: Tweeting data from prediction markets should not be assumed to be an endorsement of the wisdom of said markets.”
The European books had Buttigieg anywhere from 8/1 to 11/1 odds.
Buttigieg has the fifth shortest odds after Bernie Sanders 4/1, Kamala Harris 3/1, Biden 4/1 (6/1 at some books) and Beto ORourke 6/1. Businessman Andrew Yang was coming in at 13/1 at PaddyPower.
