"It felt good," the 28-year-old native of Texas told reporters. "To finally get the first one out of the way, it was fun. It was definitely a grind out there competing against a great lineup." Justin Bour is 5-for-10 with two home runs against Miller, who was limited to a total of 139 innings over the past three seasons due to various injuries.

Acquired from San Francisco at the end of spring training, Stratton allowed four runs on seven hits over 4 1/3 innings in Monday's 6-3 loss to Seattle. The 28-year-old native of Mississippi, who is facing Texas for the first time, settled in after a rough first inning and retired eight of the final 11 batters he faced while throwing a total of 82 pitches. Stratton appeared in 28 games (26 starts) for the Giants last season, going 10-10 with a 5.09 ERA.
