Tampa is looking impressive early on and are listed with 25-1 odds to win the 2019 World Series (a $100 bet pays out $2500).
Morton has been professional in his first two starts with the Rays, allowing two runs on seven hits across 11 total innings with 14 strikeouts and four walks. The 35-year-old New Jersey native blanked Colorado in six frames Wednesday, but settled for a no-decision in a 1-0 extra-inning loss. Yoan Moncada is 2-for-3 versus Morton, who beat the White Sox last year despite giving up five runs over 5 2/3 innings.
Santana is expected to make his first start with the White Sox after signing as a free agent, following a 2018 season plagued by injury. The 36-year-old Dominican Republic native, who is one victory from 150 in his career, made just five starts with Minnesota last year due mostly to a finger injury. Mike Zunino (3-for-6) and Avisail Garcia (7-for-27) have each homered twice against Santana, who is 7-7 with a 5.31 ERA in 17 starts versus the Rays.
