Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons odds were listed at Atlanta -6 across the board with only a few slight variances, including one -7 at betED.com, which is for all you Carolina backers out there.  SBG Global offered the -6 point line.

Atlanta was fantastic against Miami last week while Carolina was downright awful at home against Philadelphia.

The Falcons easily beat Carolina at home last season in their last meeting but lost the previous game in Carolina.  These two teams alternated wins the year before as well.

A rather dangerous scenario here for Falcons bettors is that the Panthers are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. loss.  This stat cannot be overemphasized enough, and it is the reason why Gambling911.com will not be picking the Atlanta Falcons to cover this week.  We don't dare pick Carolina after how lousy they were either.  Consider this one a "pass".

Behind a strong defensive performance and the playmaking of new tight end Tony Gonzalez, the Falcons were able to drub the visiting Dolphins, 19-7. ... After jumping out to a 7-0 lead, the host Panthers crumbled under a cascade of turnovers, losing to the Eagles, 38-10.

In his last two meaningful games, Delhomme has thrown nine interceptions and lost two fumbles. He was benched in the third quarter last Sunday against the Eagles after throwing his fourth pick. Coach John Fox said Monday he is sticking with Delhomme as his starter, but with A.J. Feeley signing with the Panthers this week, do not be surprised to see Delhomme get a quick hook if he turns the ball over multiple times again.

Feeley hasn't exactly been a bright spot in the NFL.

Starting in place of an injured Donovan McNabb on November 25 of last year, Feeley threw for 345 yards and three touchdowns with three interceptions in a 31-28 game loss to the then undefeated New England Patriots.

On December 2, Feeley played again for the injured McNabb. He threw four interceptions, three of those to Lofa Tatupu in a 28-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Previously, Feeley played for the Miami Dolphins where, in 2004, he was a disappointment, throwing more interceptions than touchdowns with a 61.7 quarterback rating.  Good luck Carolina.  You're gonna need it.

A few other stats of note:

The Panthers are 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 games following a SU loss of more than 14 points.

The Falcons are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 vs. NFC South.

80 percent of the betting action in this game is going to the Falcons.

Bet this game at betED.com if you like the Panthers.

Bet this game at SBG Global if you like the Falcons
