It's all about the Blue Jays, Raptors and of course the Maple Leafs.

It's certainly a time to celebrate in Canada's largest city.  The Raptors had the second best record in the NBA Eastern Conference while the Maple Leafs were third in the Atlantic playing in this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs.  They were leading the Bruins 2-1 in the first round as of this writing.

Toronto Fan Base

Sporting News defines the Maple Leafs fans:

Arguably the most diehard of any fan base in the NHL, Leafs fans have remained a force despite the absence of a Stanley Cup for half a century. While the Air Canada Centre tends to suffer from a pricing structure that keeps the more rowdy fans further from ice level, the sheer size and dedication of Leafs Nation has to count for something.

Raptors fans may even be crazier:

Similar to the Blue Jays in that they benefit from being the only team in the nation in their particular league, the Raptors have seen their fan base become a talking point around the NBA in recent years. At playoff time, there are very few arenas that can match the Air Canada Centre, and the "Jurassic Park" outdoor viewing party has taken on a life of its own.

But it's the Blue Jays that take the cake, and they haven't been all that bad to start 2019:

It could be argued that the Blue Jays have the largest fan base in the country, with thousands of blue-clad patrons invading road venues around the league (with Seattle, in particular, looking like Rogers Centre West whenever the Jays are in town).

The fact that the Jays are Canada's lone Major League Baseball team certainly helps, but the seamless transition from an older, more homogenous crowd to one that more accurately showcases the diversity of Toronto is a recent step in the right direction. And they just topped the American League in total attendance again this year despite a team that fell out of the postseason picture months ago.
