Before we get started, it must be said that Draftkings and FanDuel occupy some 75% of the betting market here, outside of the offshore sportsbooks that have been accessible from New Jersey for more than 20 years now.
Despite MGM being a solid well funded brand, they must rely on affiliates who pay a fee to the state of New Jersey to get any type of headway. This is the price of doing business.
It is odd that MGM allowed Draftkings and FanDuel to overtake them in the market as they own arguably the most prestigious casino brand in the Garden State: The Borgata.
Getting back to the MGM brand, we'll start by stating the obvious. They are one of the most reputable companies in the gaming sector. In fact, Gambling911.com for years has maintained a very strong relationship with their PR arm with both the MGM national brand and the Borgata.
Players have mostly complained about the lack of prop offerings, difficulties in claiming promotions, and - strange for New Jersey - a tough time withdrawing funds via desirable options.

"The best app for anyone is the one where you get your money the fastest. They all take it every way but don’t want to give it back every way. Tells you will deposit back to your checking click of a button until you sign up deposit your money and find out that’s not a option. Have to wait for your money."
There were more than one issues with payouts, not all of them verified though.
Adamal58 was verified and writes:
"Went to Borgata to get my money, only to be told that I need to wait for a confirmation email that 15 hours later still didn't arrive. Cancelled and now waiting for a check. Download Draftkings in NJ. You will be much happier."
jgoods21 pointed out another issue:
"Almost as bad as William Hill, keeps freezing."
On the positive end of things, Wodes writes:
"With live betting and teasers finally added in latest update, playMGM jumps to the upper echelon of NJ apps. Clean layout was always a plus. Hopefully MGM/Borgata will more aggressively support the app and iterate it more frequently going forward."
And like we said, MGM is a proven brand that can be trusted.
