The first World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) event of 2009 has been won by JP Kelly.  Online Poker News reports Kelly is the first British player to win a WSOPE bracelet in London

Kelly had previously won close to $200,000 at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas this summer, his first bracelet.

"(This) means a lot. It's hard to compare them. They are quite different. This is better in some ways because there are a lot more of my friends around. So I look forward to celebrating."

The 23-year old has had great success at tournaments in Europe, winning seven tournaments within a 15-month span in 2005-2006. He's won approximately $500,000 in life time live tournaments.
