Is Bovada Legal From My State?

Bovada is legal from most states, though Washington State does have a provision specifically aimed at betting online whereby anyone found to be doing so could be prosecuted with a felony.

Antigua, which licenses Bovada, received a winning judgement by the World Trade Organization (WTO) in its dispute with the US.  The island nation claimed unfair competition in its filing of a complaint with the organization.  It has been unsuccessful at obtaining compensation from the US to date even though Antigua was rewarded a financial judgement.

Following a highly publicized series of indictments out of New York against three online poker rooms in 2011, Bovada opted to exit that market, only to return in late 2018.

Bovada also stopped accepting players from Maryland following a series of probes originating from that state.

The company also does not accept customers from Nevada and New Jersey at this time.
