The state's five casinos would each host sports betting.  The Mountaineer Casino is a short drive from Pittsburgh and a few western Ohio cities.  The Hollywood Casino is accessible from the Baltimore/Washington area.

To date, one year after the US Supreme Court reversed decades of prohibition of sports wagering, West Virginia's industry is in the red.  The Mountaineer State was among the first to dive in.

The Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack has sued the casino vendor for misrepresented its ownership of a key part of the sports betting platform.

The Greenbrier reported a mere $42,000 handle (amount of money actually wagered) this week.  Mountaineer Casino had the best handle at $536,437.16.
