5:31 pm EST - Red Sox vs. Yankees Game Looking More Likely Not Happening - Thunderstorms in the area of the Bronx were expected to last until around 9 pm EST and officials decided to postpone this game after all.  Gambling911.com expressed concern over the potential for a postponement this morning based on earlier forecast models, however, is was starting to look as if this game could get off an hour-and-a-half late.  It's now a no-go.  All bets are graded NO ACTION.

5:27 pm EST - Trump Impeachment Odds Slashed at BoylesSports - BoyleSports, Ireland’s biggest independent bookmaker, slashed the odds Trumps will be impeached in his first term from 8/1 to 2/1, according to an announcement from the bookmaker Thursday. The odds of Trump resigning in his first term were 6/1, while his reelection remained even money.

“The betting on a Trump impeachment had died down and was basically lying dormant before Robert Mueller threw a cat amongst the pigeons on Wednesday,” BoyleSports spokesperson Lawrence Lyons said in a statement. “With the renewed pressure from Democrats, the betting has been reignited forcing us to make it 2/1 from 8/1 that he is impeached before his first term is out.”

5:19 pm EST - Jeopardy Champ Once Lost $20K Sports Bet - Professional sports bettor James Holzhauer, who continues to inch towards the all-time record for largest win in that game show's history, hasn't always been a winner.  He confessed to losing a $20,000 sports bet in his home town of Vegas.

Holzhauer admitted that he doesn't discuss his winnings or losses with his wife "until the end of the (sports) season," adding that it's "better that way."

"It relieves a great deal of stress in the household," Trebek quipped.Twenty thousand dollars seems like a drop in the bucket compared to Holzhauer's winning total of $2,323,971 on "Jeopardy," following his 30th victory Wednesday.

4:48 pm EST - Brewers See Most Lopsided Action Heading Into Thursday Night  - The Brewers money line was sitting at -123 and getting around 80% of the action in their game against Pittsburgh.  This line has trended up slightly.  The last ten meetings have resulted in five wins apiece.  Milwaukee is 2-6 in the last 8 meetings in Pittsburgh but 6-2 in Chase Anderson's last 8 starts vs Pittsburgh.

4:02 pm EST - Hoosiers September 1 Start Date for Sports Betting Highly Unlikely - Officials have toned down expectations for sports betting to start in Indiana September 1, the day before the Fighting Irish play their first game of the season. Indiana Gaming Commission leadership says the “aggressive timeline” for implementation will make that Sept. 1 target difficult. 

The Gaming Commission will begin accepting applications July 1 from casino operators and vendors who want to offer sports betting.

But Executive Director Sara Gonso Tait says the commission is making “no promises” for a Sept. 1 rollout.

“Submitting applications, creating internal control procedures, hiring and training new staff, entering into agreements for data,” Tait says.

Retail sportsbooks would likely be up prior to the mobile websites.

2:06 pm EST - Serial Bank Robber Found Gambling in Casino (AP) PLAINVILLE, Mass. —A suspect in a series of armed bank robberies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island has been captured at a casino.

Massachusetts State Police say 31-year-old Joseph Hickson, of Walpole, was arrested at about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday as he gambled at the Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville.

Authorities say he’s a suspect in at least four bank robberies in Walpole and Franklin, Massachusetts as well as Cranston and East Providence, Rhode Island.

He’s scheduled to be arraigned Thursday as a fugitive from justice.

 His car was also towed from the slot parlor’s parking lot.

It could not be determined if he has an attorney.

1:53 pm EST - Google Cracking Down on Video Gaming Loot Boxes and Children Gambling - "Loot boxes" are a popular game feature that allows players to receive rewards at random for a fee.  This week, Google changed it policy on loot boxes to require Play Store app developers to disclose the likelihood that players will receive rewards from loot boxes.  "Apps offering mechanisms to receive randomized virtual items from a purchase (i.e. ‘loot boxes’) must clearly disclose the odds of receiving those items in advance of purchase," Google's payments rules read as of Thursday, according to tech blog Android Police.

1:21 pm EST - Feds: Man Threatened to Kill Athletes Over Gambling Losses -  BOSTON (AP) — A former college soccer player in Massachusetts has agreed to plead guilty to sending death threats to dozens of professional and collegiate athletes whom he blamed for his gambling losses.

Authorities say 23-year-old Addison Choi, of Fullerton, California was a prolific gambler who posted graphic and sometimes racist threats on the Instagram accounts of athletes he believed caused him to lose money.

Defense attorney Joseph Simons said Choi is accepting responsibility and the details in the federal complaint “do not represent Addison Choi as a person.”

Court documents show Choi will plead guilty to making threats to injure people.

Authorities didn’t identify the school he attended, but an athletics website for Babson College in Wellesley listed a soccer player named Addison Choi.

Asher Conniff is in the driver's seat in an attempt to win his first WSOP gold bracelet with a 53 big blind stack of 4,215,000.
