11:09 pm ET - Derek McMaster Wins First Bracelet - The $1,500 Omaha Eight or Better is over and Derek McMaster has claimed his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet. He takes home $228,228 and his second-ever WSOP cash, topping a field of 853 players. Most of his cashes have come from his home state Minnesota and his previous best WSOP finish was 74th place in the 2017 $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo. 11:00 pm EST - Bitcoin ‘Crypto-Casino’ is a Terrorist Playground: Ex-SEC Crime Czar - Attorney John Reed Stark, a cybersecurity expert who worked for 20 years at the SEC’s enforcement division. claims Bitcoin is a worthless sham that’s only useful for facilitating crime.

Stark says the Securities and Exchange Commission will soon crack down on initial exchange offerings (IEO).

He inists that "Bitcoin is a con".

Basically, Stark says IEOs are just another bogus investment scam being promoted by crypto shills to take advantage of unsuspecting suckers. However, he says the SEC is aware of the recent uptick in IEO transactions and will hunt them down.

“IEOs represent yet another blatant attempt to hijack a similar-sounding acronym — IPO — in an effort to lure investors seeking to get rich quick. However, just like ICOs, the IEO has not a single element in common with the IPO (other than the first and last letters of its acronym).”  Read More Here

9:50 am - Sharp Decline in UK Gaming Machines for First Time Ever - Online gambling continues to gobble up an ever-larger share of the overall UK market, while gaming machines in betting shops saw their share decline for the first time ever.

UK-licensed operators generated gross gambling yield (GGY) of £14.5b, which the UKGC says represents a 0.4% decline from the 12 months ending March 2018 (although they originally reported GGY of £14.4b during that period.  Source: CalvinAyre.com

9:30 am - Sports Betting One Step Closer in Illinois but Sunday is D-Day - A sports betting bill in Illinois has passed in the House 87-27 and heads to the Senate on Sunday, the deadline to have any outstanding legislation passed. From there, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is widely expected to sign the measure.

Mobile and retail sports betting would be available through casinos, race tracks and sports venues (including ball parks such as Wrigley Field and stadiums like Soldier Field). 

While a controversial integrity fee has been scratched from Senate Bill 690, colleges and sports leagues will be provided with some control over types of wagers that can be offered.

Bets on Illinois college teams like the Fighting Illini and Loyola Ramblers will be prohibited.

It appears that Draftkings and FanDuel will be blocked from entering Illinois sports betting for the first 18 months.
