When it comes to line monitoring, the Rockies-Mets early game today definitely caught our attention.

The Mets line had fallen from -190 to 168, a fairly dramatic shift that would have us focusing on a live dog in the Rockies.

Ideally, the brunt of the action would be on the Mets.  That was mostly true early with around 60% backing New York, although we wouldn't say the volume on this game is particularly significant.

Colorado becomes all the more attractive being that they have won nine of the last ten meetings.  They have also won seven of their last ten games overall.

In the end, the starting pitching is not something we find particularly appealing.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Jeff Hoffman (1-2, 7.29 ERA) vs. Mets RH Noah Syndergaard (3-4, 4.83)

Hoffman managed to set season highs in innings (six) and strikeouts (seven) in Chicago on Tuesday, but gave up two homers for the second time in three starts and allowed five runs in all to take the loss against the Cubs. The former first-round pick earned his first big-league victory since July 16, 2017 in his previous outing, allowing three runs in five frames against Arizona. Hoffman made two relief appearances last June against the Mets, surrendering a total of five runs on four hits and three walks over one inning.

Syndergaard's winless streak reached four games following his third straight no-decision against San Francisco on Tuesday after yielding three runs on five hits and three walks across 6 2/3 innings. The 2016 All-Star began the season by going 1-3 with a 6.35 ERA over his first six outings, but has rebounded slightly by posting a 2-1 record and 3.75 ERA in seven turns since. Dahl is 4-for-6 with two doubles against Syndergaard, who is 1-0 with a 3.32 ERA in three starts versus Colorado.

The Rockies are 8-2 in their last 10 games vs. a right-handed starter.

Rockies are 2-8 in Hoffman's last 10 starts after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game.

The Mets are 10-1 in their last 11 home games vs. a right-handed starter.
