Though Pittsburgh had won the last two meetings, six of the last seven were won by Atlanta.
Seven of the last nine meetings resulted in nine or fewer runs. That's UNDER the overnight total of 10.
Atlanta was a -137 overnight favorite. This one has mostly hung around that number.
Chris Archer (3-5, 5.20) limited the Braves to one run in six innings for a victory Thursday, and before that had his first victory of the season against the Brewers. He struggled in the three starts prior to this one.
Mike Foltyniewicz (1-5, 5.89) gave up three runs over six innings Thursday in a loss to the Pirates. Foltyniewicz has had three quality starts in his last four.
Atlanta is enticing, even in the -140 price range especially because the Pirates are 1-7 in Archer’s last 8 road starts. Then again, the Braves are 1-10 in Foltynewicz’s last 11 home starts.
Remember, Pittsburgh does have the third worst bullpen in Major League Baseball.
