Years of speculation and still plenty of non-believers, at least one nation's government this week has recognized Dr. Craig Wright as Bitcoin's elusive founder, Satoshi Nakamoto.

The Expo-Bitcoin International 2019 is underway in Bogota, Colombia’s capital city, and that country’s government believes.

Following his presentation, Wright was honored with an official form of a special document to acknowledge his work in Bitcoin as Dr. Craig Wright, Satoshi Nakamoto.

Wright's latest venture is Bitcoin SV, which he and other supporters of the cryptocurrency, claim to be the "true" Bitcoin, or at least encompasses everything that BTC was supposed to.

Check out our podcast interview with Jimmy Nguyen of NChain talking Bitcoin SV below.

From Coingeek.com:

Now that BSV is ready to follow the original vision of Satoshi himself, Wright expects it to bring a respectability to digital currency. “Bitcoin is an immutable evidence trail,” he explained. “It is a single global ledger. Once we roll it out, we’re going to make fraud expensive, fraud difficult. We’re going to make it so that people can actually trust money, trust negotiating with people. Because there’s no way of getting away with something bad, there’s a record kept of everything.”

Not all BTC backers have embraced Bitcoin SV, or Dr. Craig Wright for that matter.  But on a night when the price of Bitcoin has shot above the $10,000 mark for the first time since early 2018, any hostilities have likely subsided, at least until the price dips below $10, 000 again.

Folks are also more intrigued by alternative cryptocurrencies, and at $226, Bitcoin SV can be considered a steal.  It's price has shot up 102.6% in the past month from $44.
