Skaggs, 27, died suddenly in Texas with his game set to start a four-game series against the Rangers. Monday night's game was postponed as a result and graded as No Action. The Rangers were the largest consensus play of the evening ahead of the postponement.
A Southlake, Texas police spokesperson said it "is not suspected" that Skaggs took his own life, according to the Los Angeles Times.
"It is with great sorrow that we report Tyler Skaggs passed away earlier today in Texas," a statement by the Angels said. "Tyler has, and always will be, an important part of the Angels Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family during this devastating time."
