Are There Any Online Sportsbooks Available to Bet on From California?

Many folks don't realize that there are dozens of online sportsbooks that are accessible from the state of California.

These sportsbooks operate from outside the US and are licensed in jurisdictions where sports wagering is legal such as the UK, Costa Rica and Malta.

While the US Supreme Court has ruled to allow sports betting nationwide, some states, California included, have opted not to amend their own law.  The reason for this is primarily a result of conflicting agendas among lawmakers and lobbyists.  The powerful tribes often butt heads with one another over gambling issues.  In fact, for nearly a decade, attempts to legalize online poker fell apart with each year's effort as the tribes fought over which websites would be permitted and which would be excluded.

There are those who would suggest it's probably best to stick with the offshore brands.  God only knows what will ultimately emerge out of California.
