Lawmakers passed the measure late Monday and all that is needed now is Gov. Roy Cooper’s signature.

The N.C. House passed Senate Bill 154 Monday, joining the Senate in approving sports betting and horse wagering in the state.

Gov. Cooper has 10 days to either sign it into law, veto it, or let it become law without his signature.

“I expect the governor will sign the bills,” Sen. Jim Davis said. “They are not controversial and we have strong bipartisan support.”

The casinos are not easily accessible to most living in North Carolina.  Mobile betting will not be permitted.
