PA Sportsbooks Dishing Out -114 Lines

The taxes are among the highest in Pennsylvania for operating a sportsbook.  The price was expected to be passed down to consumers, we just didn't know quite how.

Now we might know.

Dante1 of SportsBookReview.com posted the following:

"Just read in the local two more will be opening before foot in my area.

"Also, I was checking out college/nfl foot early lines and I almost fell off the couch. college is 114, at the PA books now operating. Maybe that is just pre line, I don't know. so I go on to chat and the rep tells me he has no idea if that is what it will be during the season and the lines are made by some outside firm, he said. Maybe, this is only before the season, if it is for regular season that is unbelievable. books make a fortune with 10% vig even 8% and a few make a go at 5%.

"I doubt if I will lay 114 for 100 at a PA sportsbooks if that is what it remains. almost impossible to win long term at 110, wow. maybe competition will change that, one of the books must come in at 110. What about fanduel? what do they ask for? anybody know?"

Los Angeles Would be First Major City in US to Ban Horse Racing

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles could soon become the first major city to ban horse racing.

The Los Angeles Board of Animal Services Tuesday will consider a motion to prohibit racing and off-track betting in L.A., in what appears to be a mostly symbolic move.

The push follows the recent deaths at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, where 30 horses died this past season.

Santa Anita would not be affected by Los Angeles' decision.

However, Gov. Gavin Newsom last month gave the California Horse Racing Board the authority to immediately suspect licenses to protect the health and safety of horses and riders.

Most sportsbooks have Shedeur Sanders listed as the favorite to go No. 1 overall in the upcoming NFL Draft, but one is going against the grain and putting his teammate up top.
